J. Richard O'Pry
Chief Executive Officer
In 1992, Mr. O'Pry struck out on his own and formed J. R. O'Pry Consulting, Inc.,(JROC). JROC was a Healthcare Information System (HIS) consulting firm, primarily focused on the implementation of ALLEGRA. In 2001 JROC purchased ALLEGRA from Siemens Medical Systems and changed the company name to IntraNexus, Inc. Mr. O'Pry continues to serve as CEO of IntraNexus and has been intimately involved in the development of SAPPHIRE, the premier web-based HIS.
Mr. O'Pry began his healthcare experience as a Respiratory Therapist at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in 1974, where his management career followed a steady upward progression. In 1984, he moved to Virginia Beach General Hospital (VBGH), where he held the positions of Director of Respiratory Care, Director of Therapy Services, and Director of Product Line Management. While at VBGH, Mr. O'Pry was instrumental in the selection of their Healthcare Information System (HIS). VBGH served as the national Alpha/Beta development/ test site for the ALLEGRA product. That system went live in February 1989 and Mr. O'Pry provided in-house ALLEGRA support.
Mary Jane Darling
President and Chief Operating Officer
Ms. Darling manages all of the IntraNexus software research and development teams and client service operations. Ms. Darling joined IntraNexus in 1995 as a senior consultant performing system installations, process re-engineering reviews, and project management. She spent five years as the Senior Vice President before assuming the role of Chief Operating Officer in July 2003 and the role of President in January 2008.
Ms. Darling played an integral role in developing the acquisition and support strategy for the purchase of ALLEGRA in March 2001. Once the ALLEGRA operations were established, Ms. Darling changed her focus to the development of SAPPHIRE, along with the negotiating of third-party agreements to support future development and product offerings.
Before coming to IntraNexus, Ms. Darling earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and has spent over 20 years in healthcare in various roles management roles as well as developing and implementing clinical, financial, and ancillary solutions for acute and long-term healthcare facilities.
Doug James
Chief Technology Officer
Mr. James manages new technology and other corporate IT initiatives. Mr. James is responsible for budget and resource allocation over multiple projects. He provides company-wide technical direction for new development and Information Technology. He also supervises the development of new technologies and resources that apply across product lines.
Mr. James joined IntraNexus in November 1997 as a systems interface consultant and assisted all of their existing hospital clients with the integration of ALLEGRA into each individual hospital’s ancillary systems. In 2000, Mr. James was named the Project Manager for the development of the SAPPHIRE HIS. He was promoted to Chief Technology Officer in June 2001.Prior to joining IntraNexus, Mr. James worked as an electrical engineer for McDonnell Douglas where he worked on the development of a laser communication satellite system and the development of a real-time flight control system for the F-15 fighter jet.
Mr. James moved into healthcare in 1995 as a Programmer & Analyst with Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. While with Deaconess, Mr. James was responsible for the successful integration of ALLEGRA with the hospital’s ancillary systems.
Cathy Brannon
Vice President of Development
Ms. Brannon is responsible for the management of all development resources, as well as the design and development of all of the products. Ms. Brannon was instrumental in leading the way for IntraNexus to be one of the first vendors to provide HIPAA-compliant software to their clients.
Ms. Brannon joined IntraNexus in 1995. Prior to the 2001 ALLEGRA acquisition, Ms. Brannon was responsible for technical support, as well as conversion support from legacy systems to the new healthcare information systems. After the acquisition, Ms. Brannon was responsible for the consolidation of the multiple versions of the ALLEGRA software into one comprehensive, efficient version. She was also responsible for incorporating all of the HIPAA-required changes. Prior to joining IntraNexus, Ms. Brannon had been involved in the development and support of multiple Healthcare Information Systems (HIS). Primarily she worked with Shared Medical Systems. In total, Ms. Brannon has been supporting and developing HIS software for more than 17 years.
Graduating from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology with a B.S. in Computer Science, Ms. Brannon brings more than 20 years of technical experience to IntraNexus.
Kathleen Patentreger
Vice President of Client Services
Ms. Patentreger is responsible for all SAPPHIRE and ALLEGRA implementations and client support, including training and professional consulting services. Ms. Patentreger focuses on the transition of support operations to IntraNexus during solution implementation, and then on providing IntraNexus’ signature quality client services and support.
Ms. Patentreger joined IntraNexus in July 1997 as a consultant, performing ALLEGRA installations at various healthcare organizations. During the three years Ms. Patentreger was the Project Manager for Advocate Health Systems, she headed teams performing the ALLEGRA implementations for four of their eight hospitals.
Prior to joining IntraNexus, Ms. Patentreger was the Director of Information Services for a state psychiatric hospital in New York. Her responsibilities included management of all automation and technology issues and computer support for the hospital.
Ms. Patentreger’s education is in secondary mathematics and computer science. She spent several years teaching secondary mathematics. She has also worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst.
Laurie Shoaf
Vice President of Corporate Compliance
Ms. Shoaf has more than 20 years of experience in Patient Financial Services, including director level responsibilities within a variety of health care provider settings. She holds a Patient Account Manager Certification through AAHAM, received the AAHAM 2001 National President’s Award for her exceptional contributions to the organization, and currently serves as President on the National AAHAM Board of Directors.
In addition to her compliance role, Ms. Shoaf has also been involved in the development of the SAPPHIRE registration and financial products since their inception. In 2000, as the Corporate Compliance Manager, Ms. Shoaf was responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the corporate compliance plan for the ALLEGRA and SAPPHIRE product lines.
Ms. Shoaf joined IntraNexus in 1998 as a senior consultant. Her focus was on ALLEGRA patient accounting set-up and Patient Account Work List (PAWS) installations at various healthcare organizations. Prior to joining IntraNexus, she was the Director of Patient Finance Services for a large multi-specialty physician clinic.
Tom Visotsky
Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Mr. Visotsky is responsible for management and expansion of sales, marketing and business development operations as well as development of new strategic partnerships.
Mr. Visotsky brings over 13 years of experience in driving success in healthcare software and service companies. His domain knowledge spans medical coding, revenue cycle management, clinical information management and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining IntraNexus, Mr. Visotsky was director of business development at EDIMS, where he was responsible for leading sales initiatives for their emergency department information systems (EDIS) solutions suite. Previously, he was sales leader at Cerner Corp., vice president of sales at Concuity, sales director, coding and compliance solutions at 3M Health Information Systems and vice president of sales at Info-X, an Inc. 500 company that specialized in coding and compliance solutions that was acquired by 3M Corp. in 2004.
