Our History

IntraNexus was established in 1992, originally named J. O'Pry Consulting which was founded by J. R. O'Pry. The consulting firm provided information systems selection, process-improvement, and implementation services to over 250 hospitals across the nation. The consulting firm was engaged to implement many different clinical and patient financial systems and experienced first-hand the enormous challenges facing healthcare institutions to effectively gain adoption and realize the anticipated return on investment.

In 2001, one of the patient financial systems – Allegra – that J. O’Pry Consulting had implemented at over 100 hospital locations became available for purchase. Based on their extensive experience and knowledge of the system, J. R. O’Pry acquired Allegra and created a joint software and services company called IntraNexus.

In the years since, J. R. O’Pry’s vision has developed healthcare’s first true web-based, enterprise hospital information system (HIS) named SAPPHIRE. SAPPHIRE dramatically limits licensing and hardware fees along with leveraging latest web technology to deliver access via any web-enabled device.
